BisonRidge Ranch is situated near the shores of Buffalo Lake. According to Ho-Chunk tribal legend, over 150 years ago, the last buffalo was run into Buffalo Lake and drowned. Today at BisonRidge Ranch nearly 300 buffalo, also called bison, roam the land near this historic lake. Owners Jim Atten and Georgia Derrick take pride in being a part of the restoration of bison in Wisconsin and enjoy sharing their ranch with visitors.

For nearly 20 years we have participated in an Agricultural Exchange Program where we welcome young men and women from all over the world to come live at the ranch and learn about buffalo ranching.

BisonRidge Ranch focuses on natural pastures. Our animals are allowed to graze in roomy pastures on chemical-free grass. We rely on birds and beneficial insects for pest control. We do not give our animals antibiotics or growth hormones assuring you clean, healthful meat.
